Course 2 - English for Tourism Administration Purposes

20 lessons per week, each lesson: 45 minutes 

 

Duration – 3 weeks

The aim of this course is to train candidates in the Tourism Industry to integrate the English language in the everyday interaction with clients. The course will explore key tourism language through real-life situations and tasks that will help consolidate the students’ technical vocabulary. Through continuous practice of functional language, grammar and pronunciation, students will be able to communicate effectively at their place of work with maximum confidence. English for Tourism provides an all-inclusive overview of the tourism industry. The course focuses on all the main sectors of tourism. Through role-play, grammar tasks and vocabulary exercises, the student will become acquainted with the necessary tools for everyday conversation in all the relevant areas tackled during the course.

 

Course Overview

 

Module 1: Essential Rules of Phone Etiquette

Telephone etiquette shall be explored during this module. This module will focus on professional telephone language and the importance of telephone etiquette shall be explained.

 

Module 2: Booking systems and on the spot problem solving

This module will introduce booking systems and processes. Participants shall be trained in filling in booking forms and request forms. Through this module, participants will learn how to liaise with clients through efficient problem solving.

 

Module 3: Supervising administrative staff and dividing responsibilities to ensure performance

This module will enable the candidates to fairly delegate work load.

 

Module 4: General office duties as requires.

To sum up, this module will include an amount of scenarios that may be encountered in an office such as, but not limited to greeting clients and visitors, coordinating events and clearing of meeting rooms as need.
